Caroline Morgan was born in Rochdale,UK in 1973, her first experience of music as a child revolved around Jazz /Blues and Gospel.
Her father was a very talented Jazz Musician, who played the Tenor Saxophone for 40yrs, he introduced her to the be--bop , big bands ,and a wide range of jazz standards.
Caroline remembers listening to the deep tones of Ella Fitzgerald, the accurate scat of Sarah Vaughan. Many jazz greats such as Miles Davies ,John Coltrane , Count Basie and Fats Waller seemed to dominate the family home on a daily basis, especially her father's sax, greeting her on the way back home from school. His music provided both comfort and escapism for her from the mundane things in life.
Caroline started performing for friends at parties, and social events in 1997. She decided to find a vocal tutor and after a few attempts , found an excellent vocal tutor " Anita Wardell".
Caroline has now gone from strength to strength building up an excellent repertoire and a good network of musicians. Her driving force is her late father who reminded her about the beauty of music. A regular quote would be " Music is good for the Mind/Soul, Jazz is an expression and an improvisation of sound" and "Don't give up child".
Caroline says "I'm here to continue the legacy."
She is available to book with a pianist or within a five piece band and is versatile enough to perform a selection of soul and pop classics, or even perform a swing/ jazz set. Her repertoire is below.
