Rough Hill are widely regarded as one of the best unsigned funk/ soul bands in the country. Their repertoire of songs is incredible as influences such as Sister Sledge, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin and Gwen McRae are notable amongst the members.

The quality of the musicians is outstanding. The lead singer, Jennie Sawdon has an incredible vocal talent and has performed all over the UK, most notably the Albert Hall; Kenji Fenton on tenor sax has recently graduated with top honours from the Royal Northern College of Music; Roger Hughes has played with legends such as BB King, Squeeze and Living Colour and finally incredible guitarist Johnny Hayes, has performed all over the UK, the amazing sound which emanates from his guitar is something to behold. The band also regularly include top UK Session players such as Jasper Wilkinson, Greg Morgan and Brian Hargreaves.

The band recently played for Trevor Nelson in Hammersmith and have gigged for celebrities all over the UK including at Wayne Rooney's 18th Birthday.
